It's now a year later. We are back in our house, but many
are still living in the FEMA village. Lots of progress has been made
with evidence to renovations all over town. But here we go again--we
have been slammed with record winter storms since 12/14. Phones and
power have been out for days at a time over much of the last few
weeks . Record snow falls and warmer rains brought the river close to
flooding on New Year's Day and more is expected this week. Our ability
to ship and communicate has been compromised. For this, we apologize.
Hope to be caught up in the first week of January.
VERNONIA FLOOD OF 2007
On the afternoon and evening of December 3, 2007 after 11 inches of
rain and hurricane force winds our wonderful town of Vernonia
experienced it's second 500 year flood in 11 years. As many as 500
homes were flooded and close to 300 people had to be rescued. You may have seen it on national news. Our
personal home was flooded with 2 feet of river in the living
room. But we feel luck compared to many, we didn't lose
anything that can't be replaced and neither of us were injured.
Many folk lost everything they had. Fortunately, our warehouse is
high and dry. Our phones and internet were out until yesterday
12/6. We have resumed shipping and expect to be caught up by earlier
next week. We will be updating this page with more info and links soon.
